Do you habitually find yourself saying to someone you met that you forgot to bring your business cards with you? If so, then you are not only losing the chance to do business with a potential client, but more importantly, you are losing money or at the very least the chance to make money.
More than anything else, your business card printing is what target clients and business associates expect to get from you. Your print business cards are what they rely on to remind them of who you are and why they should engage in business with you. Forgetting to bring one therefore, is a big no-no; a mistake of great proportions.
Getting asked for a business card is a compliment. It means you have something of value to provide the person asking for it. But having none to hand out when the person asks you for your business card printing is simply out-of-taste. Looking sheepish or embarrassed every time someone asks you for a business card does not do you any good. You are missing out on a golden opportunity and
a great invitation to market to that person. You are also sending out the impression that you are not serious about your business. And worse, you dont have the capacity to be entrusted with their business.
So dont be caught without your business card again. Here are some suggestions to help you remember to bring your cards:
1. Consciously figure out a strategy to use your business cards. Whether its as simple as handing out 5 to 8 cards a day, or even to pin them in bulletin boards in your community whatever it is, the bottom line is you make an effort to actively promote your business with your business card printing. When you have a strategy to use your cards to get business, you wont even forget to bring them every time.
2. Print new cards. If you havent ordered a new batch for the past three years, then you should do it now. Its very likely that the information you have in your business card is outdated. Getting new cards to represent you gives you a feeling of self respect and pride. So go ahead and have your printer produce your new cards. Youll be more likely to hand out cards that youre proud of.
3. Practice handing out your cards so youll be comfortable doing it. Its not only the act of giving them to your prospect that makes a positive impression. The words and the actions associated with your handing them out can make a world of difference for you to get a good image.
4. Invest on an excellent quality business card holder or case that youd want to use and brag about. It can be an ice breaker every time you network with your target clients. Choose unusual and unique cases to hold your business cards. And then flash them every time you meet new prospects or a colleague to start the conversation.
And if all else fails, theres always the conventional way of remembering tuck them everywhere! Put business cards in your purse, glove compartment, briefcase, on top of the table near the door, and even beside your car keys. So that every time you go out, youre never without a business card to hand out to a target client or a colleague.
