These days the competition is aggressive in the job market and if you really are looking for a management position with a good company then you need to make sure that you have everything lined up to give those businesses what they are searching for. Just because you have years of management experience this might not be enough to really impress a company.
To start with look at your resume to figure out if you would hire you based on that piece of paper alone. If you answer is no then you must make modifications to this document to make it as striking as possible. You have very few words to work with and so the wording and the look of this document must be professional and remarkable. If you have the money then it may be best to have a professional service help you edit your resume, but even without hiring a professional you can still find tips for revising your resume on the net and you may even want to have it professionally printed to add
that extra eye appeal.
Of course making your resume appear better might not be the only thing. You will want to guarantee that you also have taken some management training courses as well. Six Sigma training and certification is something that will astonish the most significant of companies and it can be reasonably easy to grab from a local training center or even from an internet resource. There are many management courses that you can easily pick up to help fluff up your resume but none as impressive as Six Sigma.
Once you have the perfect resume in place you will then have to work on your interview skills if you plan to get the job. Again you can do some online research to discover what to do and not to do on a job interview including tips on what to wear, what time of day is best to interview, and the answers that will get you in the door.
Ultimately there are many things that can make or break your chances of getting a job, but by making sure that you have a professional looking resume with the extra training that companies are looking for and have a well thought out interview strategy will give you a leg up from the other applicants. Looking for a job is not just about being the best candidate but also making that company believe it.
When you are incorporating lean six sigma into your business you will notice an increase in productivity and a decrease in waste. To learn more on how six sigma can help your business, visit mbajournal.org Business Share Your Opinion. (0 posts)
